Finding the right measure.
Measure at the end of the day, at room temperature: that is when the hand is at its true volume.

Measuring a finger without a ring sizer
Wrap a 6 mm strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark the overlap, then measure the length. Divide by 3.1416: you get the diameter in millimetres, which maps to the North American size. When in doubt between two sizes, take the larger.
Measuring a wrist
Measure with a soft tape just above the wrist bone, then add half an inch for a close fit, a full inch for a looser drape.
